The same relational approach as cohort work, but in a dyadic container. One-on-one sessions are for people who need individual attention — whether as preparation for group work, concurrent support during a cohort, or standalone practice when group timing doesn't fit.
The mechanism is the same: patterns formed in relationships shift in relationships. But the container is different.
In a cohort, the relational field is distributed across multiple people. You see your pattern reflected in others. You practice in front of witnesses. The work happens through peer interaction.
In 1:1 sessions, the relational field is concentrated in the dyad — just you and me. This creates space for:
What doesn't change: this is still peer-based work, not therapy. I'm not diagnosing or fixing. We're practicing together in real time.
Sessions are 70 minutes. We work with what's present — what you're noticing in your life, what's showing up in the room between us, what patterns are running right now.
The work is embodied and relational. We're not just talking about your patterns. We're working with them as they arise — in your body, in the interaction, in real time.
Between sessions, you practice. The work doesn't stop when the session ends — it continues in your relationships, your daily life, the moments when the pattern tries to run automatically.
1:1 sessions work well if:
This isn't a substitute for cohort work if you're avoiding the group container. If you're capable of group work, that's where the deepest shifts happen. But if you genuinely need individual attention, 1:1 sessions can be valuable.
"Before working with Dirk, I was trapped in a cycle of anxiety, anger, and self-blame, constantly feeling like I wasn't enough. Despite previous attempts with therapy and medication, nothing brought lasting change.
Working with Dirk has been a game-changer. I've gained the strength to face my discomfort and traumas with more calm and acceptance. Dirk's unique presence — firm yet nurturing — has helped me see and embrace parts of myself I had long avoided.
Dirk's patience, boundary-setting, and the safe space he created allowed me to confront and process my fears in ways I couldn't have imagined. This journey has felt like a warm, secure tent where I could explore my deepest concerns and emerge feeling more whole and capable."
